Contact Lens Exams and Fitting
Contact Lens Exams and Fitting in Anderson, SC
At Medicus Eye Group, we offer a wide selection of contact lens options for almost anyone. We utilize advanced technology such as corneal topographers to aid in complex contact lens fittings. At a contact lens appointment, our doctors and staff spend time with each patient explaining the contact lens fitting and evaluation process. Once the doctor determines the proper contact lens for your eye, we work with you to make sure you are comfortable inserting and removing your lenses and understand proper contact lens hygiene and care.
Contact Lens Options:
- Soft Contact Lenses: a very popular and comfortable option that are compatible with most patients. We offer soft contacts in extended ranges for patients with high prescriptions, astigmatism, or a need for multifocals. Monthly, 2-week, and daily disposable contact lenses are all available at our office.
- Specialty Contact Lenses:
- Rigid Gas-Permeable (RGP) Lenses: a traditional hard contact lens that provides excellent vision for many patients. This custom fit contact lens is often used to help patients with corneal irregularities such as keratoconus, corneal scarring, high astigmatism and more.
- Scleral Contact Lenses: a highly customizable contact lens option that offers patients who are not candidates for soft lenses a comfortable lens with sharp vision. These lenses are often considered medically necessary as they usually provide better vision than glasses. Scleral lenses are indicated for a range of corneal disorders such as keratoconus, dry eye, pellucid marginal degeneration, and more. Post-corneal surgery patients including a history of corneal transplant, RK, LASIK, and PRK often make excellent candidates for scleral lenses.
